Dear Dr. Gasparik:
I am very pleased to offer to you, subject to approval by the President,
an appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth
and Space Sciences at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
This would be a temporary appointment to an unsalaried position of
qualified academic rank, subject to the Policies of the Board of Trustees
governing such appointments. It would be effective January 2, 1986.

Subject Position Description for T. Gasparik
Date 19 March 1985
This position is for a post-doctoral research associate in the mineral physics
group. Dr. Gasparik will be responsible for the installation, calibration,
and supervision of experimental projects on the new high-pressure apparatus
currently being obtained for the new Mineral Physics High Pressure Laboratory.
This position is supported by SUNY at Stony Brook (under account 431-9205A)
and by the NSF (under account 431-2333A). The appointment is initially for
one year with a commitment to extend to 2 years pending satisfactory performance.
