Gabriel - I am sorry about your run. Your input is most helpful, thanks. We will try again to fix the problem.

Dear Tibor:
After you left on Thursday evening, I squeezed the iron cube up to about 30 bar and Fred and I monitored the pumping rate and found that it varied by about plus or minus 5-10 bar, i.e. when we set the pumping rate say at 1 min, it may pump at that rate for about three times and then the rate will either increase or decrease at by 5 to 10 bar.
I decided to do my run but once I was beyond 100 bars the pumping rate became quite unpredictable. At some point the pumping rate, which I initially set to about 1 min 10 sec decreased to about 35 seconds at about 150 bars, and then I had a blow out.
I am providing this information so that you may know how to proceed to resolve the Sumitomo problem. Please, forward this information to Paul. I do not have his address at hand.

Best regards, Gabriel

Gabriel - sorry to tell you but we finally realized that the o-rings in the main jack are leaking and causing the troubles that we have. We have to replace them. Until then, the press is out of order. Enjoy your holidays.

Bob and I would like to meet with you on Friday to discuss the operations of the high pressure lab. Now that the Sumitomo is back on line we want to evaluate its performance, future plans and our various roles. 4 pm in room 122

Thanks
